In comparison to conventional solutions, the PFC IR1155STRPBF power factor correction IC offers high PF, low THD, and outstanding DC Bus regulation while drastically reducing component count, PCB area, and design time. It does this by utilizing IR's proprietary "One Cycle Control" (OCC) approach. The integrated circuit is made to function in continuous conduction mode. PFC boost converters with average current mode control for input line voltages between 85 and 264 VAC. Depending on the requirements of the particular application, the switching frequency can be configured to be anywhere from 48 kHz to 200 kHz. Additionally, the IR1155STRPBF provides a number of sophisticated system-enabling and protective features, including a dedicated pin for over voltage protection, cycle by cycle peak current limitation, open loop protection, VCC UVLO, soft-start, and micropower startup/sleep mode with IC current consumption less than 200A.
