To protect the photodiodes, they are packed in the Bulk. To ensure safety, photodiodes are put into TO-233AA, TO-8-3 Lens Top Metal Can packages. It is possible for the photodiodes to withstand 100V voltage in reverse-bias mode on a continuous basis. Photodiodes in reverse-bias mode should not continuously exceed 100V. When no light is input, a photodiode will conduct at 5nA current.
