BPW20RF Overview

The Bulk protects these photodiodes from damage. The photodiodes are put into Radial, Lensed Metal Can, 2 Lead packages for safety protection. Reverse-bias photodiodes should not be operated above 10V permanently. Photodiodes have a pin count of 2. During the operation of a circuit, photodiodes can release 300mW heat. A reverse anode voltage of 10V should be applied to the photodiodes. For a circuit, the maximum heat released by the photodiodes should be 300mW. If the reverse voltage is 10V, the photodiodes can operate properly in the DC circuit. Current should flow across a photodiode at 1.3V voltage. It's important to have 10V breakdown voltage to make photodiodes work. Even in the absence of light input, a photodiode occurs 2nA current.
