BPW21R Overview

As a protective measure, these photodiodes are packaged in the Bulk. Photodiodes are protected by Radial, Lensed Metal Can, 2 Lead packages in order to ensure their safety. Continuous reverse-bias means the photodiodes can withstand only 10V voltage. In reverse-bias mode, the voltage for the photodiodes should not exceed 10V continuously. Photodiodes have pins 2. In circuits containing photodiodes, 300mW heat may be released from the photodiodes. When photodiodes operate, they should not be subjected to temperatures higher than 125°C. But the photodiodes should operate at a temperature of -40°C. It is recommended that the reverse anode voltage on the photodiodes be 10V. In general, the maximum heat generated by photodiodes should be 300mW in a circuit. In the DC circuit, the photodiodes can function correctly with a reverse voltage of 10V. When current flows across a photodiode, it needs voltage 1.3V. Make sure photodiodes work with 10V breakdown voltage. It is possible for a photodiode to operate at 2nA current even if no light is provided.
