The DRV8870DDAR is an 8-pin SO PowerPAD brushed DC motor driver with a current rating of 3.6A. The brushed-DC motor driver DRV8870DDAR is used in printers, appliances, industrial equipment, and other tiny machinery. Two logic inputs control the H bridge driver, which consists of four N-channel MOSFETs capable of bidirectional motor control with a peak current of 3.6A. PWM can be used to control motor speed in a variety of current-decay regimes. When both inputs are set to low, the computer enters a low-power sleep mode. It has built-in current regulation, which is based on the analog input VREF and the voltage on the ISEN pin, which is proportional to the motor current through an external sensor resistor. The ability to limit current to a given level can drastically minimize the amount of system power and bulk capacitance required to maintain constant voltage, especially during motor start-up and stall. Undervoltage, overcurrent, and temperature are all protected against failures and short circuits in the device.
