An integrated monolithic circuit, the L298P comes in 15-lead Multiwatt and PowerSO20 packages. It is a twin full-bridge driver with a high voltage and high current rating that can drive inductive loads including relays, solenoids, DC motors, and stepping motors and accept conventional TTL logic levels. There are two enable inputs available to enable or disable the device without relying on the input signals. Each bridge's lower transistors have their emitters connected to one another, and the matching external terminal can be used to attach an external sensing resistor. To enable the logic to operate at a lower voltage, an additional supply input is offered.
