To protect these photodiodes from damage, the Bulk is used. Reverse-bias photodiodes can withstand a maximum of 20V in continuous reverse-bias mode. Photodiodes in reverse-bias mode should not continuously exceed 20V. A photodiode is capable of conducting 10nA current even without light input.
