To protect the photodiodes, they are packed in the Bulk. It is necessary to enclose the photodiodes in TO-5 Variant, 2 Leads, Lens Top Metal Can packages for safety purposes. In reverse-bias mode, the photodiodes are capable of withstanding a maximum voltage of 100V. A continuous voltage of 100V should not be applied to the photodiodes in reverse-bias mode. It is possible for a photodiode to produce 5nA even without light input.
