There is an optimized performance in this voltage regulator because it utilizes the Tape & Reel (TR) package. There are 6 terminations in this voltage regulator. As a matter of fact, the type of analog IC that this voltage regulator 12v is equipped with is called SWITCHING REGULATOR.
