A low power supervisory device used to keep an eye on power supplies is the STM6315RDW13F Microprocessor Reset Circuit. It just has one job: asserting a reset signal whenever the VCC supply voltage falls below a predetermined value and maintaining it until the VCC has risen over the predetermined threshold for a minimum amount of time (trec). Additionally, it has a manual reset input (MR). It is possible to pull up the open drain RST output to a voltage that is greater than VCC but lower than 6V.
