Description

The TPS54302DDCR is a 3-A synchronous buck converter with a 4.5-V to 28-V input voltage range. To keep the component count down, the device has two integrated switching FETs, internal loop correction, and a 5-ms internal soft start.

The TPS54302DDCR device delivers great power density while maintaining a small footprint on the PCB by integrating the MOSFETs and using the SOT-23 packaging.

The advanced Eco-mode implementation improves light load efficiency while lowering power consumption.

The frequency spread spectrum operation has been implemented in the TPS54302DDCR device to reduce EMI.

The converter is protected in an overload condition by a cycle-by-cycle current limit in both high-side MOSFETs, which is supplemented by a low-side MOSFET freewheeling current limit that prevents current runaway. If the overcurrent condition has been present for longer than the current time, the hiccup mode protection is activated.
