The device VNH7100ASTR is a full-bridge motor driver and is suitable for a wide range of automotive applications. The device integrates a dual monolithic high-end driver and two low-end switches. Both switches are designed using STMicroelectronics' well-known and proven proprietary VIPower M0 technology, which allows efficient integration of true power MOSFET with smart signal / protection circuits on the same chip. The three chips are assembled in a SO-16N package and mounted on an electrically insulated lead frame. In addition, its fully symmetrical mechanical design allows for excellent manufacturability at the board level. The input signals INA and INB can be directly interfaced with the microcontroller to select the motor direction and braking state. The SEL0 pin can be used to address the information available to the microcontroller on multi-sensing. The multi-sensor pin allows you to monitor the motor current by providing a current proportional to the motor current value. A pulse width modulation of up to 20 kHz allows the speed of the motor to be controlled under all possible conditions. In all cases, the low-level state on the PWM pin turns off the LSA and LSB switches.
